Terms of service
Last updated 28 August 2026
These terms govern your use of the Zeppol website and the Zeppol app for Shopify, operated by BTNG B.V. ("we", "us"). By using the site or installing the app you agree to them.
The service
Zeppol turns Shopify orders into structured e-invoices (Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 UBL, following EN 16931) and delivers them by email or over the Peppol network. The service is provided as-is and evolves over time; we may add, change or remove features.
Compliance is your responsibility, not ours
This is the important one. Zeppol produces invoices in the formats the mandates require and validates what it can, but you remain the issuer of your invoices. Meeting your own tax and invoicing obligations, including whether an invoice is correct, complete, and issued on time, stays with you and your accountant.
Nothing on this website is legal or tax advice. Our guides describe the mandates as we understand them; the rules change, and the authoritative source is your national tax authority.
Your responsibilities
- Keep your Shopify account secure; anyone with access to your admin can use the app on your behalf.
- Make sure the company details, VAT number and Peppol ID you configure are accurate, they appear on every invoice you send.
- Make sure buyer details you enter are accurate and that you are entitled to store them.
- Use the app only for lawful purposes and within Shopify's own terms.
Billing
Zeppol is not yet generally available. When paid plans launch, they will be billed through the Shopify Billing API at the prices shown on this site, and will appear on your Shopify invoice. You will be able to downgrade or cancel at any time; Shopify handles proration. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
Early access
Submitting your email address adds you to the early-access list. It is not a purchase, and it does not guarantee access, a launch date, or any particular price. You can unsubscribe at any time from the link in any email we send.
Data
Our privacy policy describes what we process and when it is deleted. You retain all rights to your store's data and to the invoices Zeppol generates for you.
Availability and liability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and delivery over the Peppol network also depends on third parties we do not control. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect damages, including lost profits, rejected invoices, penalties or interest assessed by a tax authority.
Termination
You can stop using Zeppol at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate service for abuse, non-payment or legal requirements. Upon termination your data is deleted per the privacy policy, except where tax law requires an invoice record to be kept.
Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be noted here with a new date. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.
